Launch Party for Locally Written Federal Hill Book!

In the winter of 2007, William Clark and wife, Maria Sosa, moved into one of Federal Hill’s many historic row houses. Struck by the beauty and history of Federal Hill, the couple sought to bring the story of this vital neighborhood to life. And that’s just what they did in their new book, Federal Hill, which became part of the Images of America series. Over 200 vintage images and stories line the pages of this book, recounting memories of days gone by in this historic Baltimore community. Federal Hill is lucky to have residents that are so passionate about, and interested in, the neighborhood.

Come join the authors at the book’s launch party! Hosted by Federal Hill main Street, at Mother’s Federal Hill Grille, Thursday, February 16th @ 7 p.m.

Copies of the book with be sold at the event, or can be purchased at The Book Escape (805 Light St.)

Federal Hill welcomes Taco Spot, a fresh Tex-Mex flavor, to our delicious food scene! Taco Spot is the newest business venture by owners of The Reserve (1542 Light St), a South Baltimore favorite. This new “customizable” eatery allows you to create your own meal in a fun, step-by-step process. By first choosing a starter (burrito, taco, bowl, or nachos) and then selecting from a variety of meat, fillings, and toppings, Taco Spot truly engages you in the creation of your meal.

Located at 1118 S Charles St., Taco Spot is a great late night option, open until 10pm Sun-Thur and 3am Fri-Sat. But they are also perfect for a quick lunch when you’re craving fresh Tex-Mex. “The night crowd has been great but we look forward to expanding our weekly traffic too,” says Kyle Moyer, a manager. They can also never get old with a menu that changes daily to offer only the freshest and delicious ingredients.

Taco Spot offers both catering and delivery options! But be sure to stop by the store and experience their unique open-air kitchen, and take advantage of great weekly specials.

Get Your Purple in Federal Hill!

Bobabooi’s Treasure Chest goes… Purple? Yes, that’s right! Bobabooi’s (1129 Light Street, Federal Hill) is now selling Baltimore Ravens' merchandise, and lots of it! Located in heart of the Federal Hill business district, this retailer is perfectly positioned to bring you all the necessities to flaunt your "Purple Pride." And what better time to show your team spirit than now, with the playoff season just kicking off?!

This shop sells everything from Raven’s T-shirts, an essential for any fan, to decorative purple flamingos. According to the owner, Angela Lauta, one of the most popular items this season has been a chic, sparkly, purple watch, the perfect accessory to pair with all of your other Ravens gear.

Also, be sure to check out the giant Raven’s logo painted on Federal Hill across from the Inner Harbor. This is part of operation: Paint the Town Purple, an effort by the Ravens to increase the excitement surrounding this year’s winning season.
