Welcome, Petra Café!

Federal Hill residents and visitors now have another dining choice in the neighborhood! Serving Mediterranean health food, Petra Café opened on 1038 Light Street last month.

A franchise of Petra Restaurant, which began in Paterson, NJ, Petra Café aims to service those looking for healthy, delicious food.  “We got so many messages asking us to come to Federal Hill,” said owner Ahmad Reziq.

The menu features made-to-order lamb and chicken gyros, falafel, shawarma, and many other Middle Eastern favorites.  It also offers great vegetarian dishes. Everything is made fresh in the café including pita and gyro bread, hummus, and a multitude of sauces.

Reziq is big on customer service. He is often the first one to greet customers and explain the menu while making suggestions for some of his favorite dishes. As a reviewer on Yelp said, it is obvious that Petra “takes pride in its product” with the presentation just as lovely as the flavors.  “We service the customer. His meal comes however he wants it,” Reziq said.

In addition to Middle Eastern delicacies, Petra will also offer 25 flavors of ice cream starting tomorrow, April 5. The café even offers a VIP room in the back that holds up to 25 people and is great for birthday parties, graduation celebrations, and more.

Petra has other locations all over, from Ohio to Florida.  Here in Federal Hill, Petra is the perfect place for adventurous, health-conscious eaters of all ages. The café is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm and open late Friday and Saturday until 4 am.
